Teachable Moments

Many have criticized the president for weighing in on the Skip Gates arrest, and then politicizing it afterwards without any visible teaching of any kind taking place. We say they have it all wrong; the message resonated loud and clear with us:

When you're having problems, drink a beer, and they will all go away.

We have to agree. In fact, if the damn doctor we went to see on a routine checkup hadn't told us to hold off on the alcohol until the follow-up, that's what we'd be doing right now.

Which brings us to another teachable moment:

If you're scheduling a doctor's appointment that might involve some tests, do it in the beginning of the week.

That way an overzealous doctor can't take your weekend away from you.
