Well, from what we saw at least, it is time for Hillary's camp to get the towel ready. From the opening bell, Hillary came out looking steely, glassed-over, even, and defensive. She, frankly, was not herself, the woman who has until this point proven to hold her own-- and then some-- in this format.
Her primary strategy now seems to be one of victimhood, which is understandable since, we would argue, it propelled her to victory in New Hampshire, and has kept white women over 60 steadfastly in her corner. But it's starting to sound smarmy. And it ain't presidential. In her own words:
"Well, can I just point out that in the last several debates, I seem to get the first question all the time. And I don't mind. I -- you know, I'll be happy to field them, but I do find it curious, and if anybody saw "Saturday Night Live," you know, maybe we should ask Barack if he's comfortable and needs another pillow."
It wasn't funny then, and it's not funny now (though, we would have to concede, there is an element of truth behind it).
